Celebrating Success | Summer Awards Party 2023

On Friday 19th May, we headed to the stunning venue of Impossible Manchester to shine a spotlight on our team at our annual Summer Awards Party. It was a night of recognition, appreciation and, above all, a testament to the hard work and immense pride we hold for our exceptional employees – and what a night it was!

Nine awards were presented in total during the course of the evening and we began with our Values Awards, which celebrated members of our team who embodied and demonstrated our company values.

 

The Teamwork Value Award

The winner of our first Value award was our Director of Customer Experience, Ian Roby, who was voted for as best embodying our Teamwork value. He was recognised for driving performance by supporting his colleagues and understanding, better than anyone, that together, as one team, we achieve more. Nominations for Ian told us that he works tirelessly for improvements within the business, is respected for his approach, knowledge and understanding and is someone who leads from the front to drive collaboration and results. Amazing work Ian!

 

The Hard Work Value Award

 

Voted for her commitment and drive, it was Vicky Berry, our Transactional Manager who scooped the Hard Work Value Award. Our team told us that Vicky took on the management and responsibility of two separate departments, worked hard to bring them together and threw herself into the role 100%. Her work ethic is amazing and she supports everyone, including customers with a smile and unlimited patience. What a worthy winner!

 

The Trust Value Award

Our next award recognised an individual who embodies our Trust Value and we asked our team to nominate someone who is trusted by their peers, suppliers and/or customers to continually deliver on their promises. The person they chose to win this award was our wonderful Compliance Manager, Melissa Carter, for her invaluable input within the business and the fact that she is a trusted advisor who is always accountable for her commitments. Well done Melissa!

 

The Humility Value Award

The final Value award was presented to two of our teammates; Sian Rogers, our Senior Developer, and Gavin Dixon, our Internal IT Engineer. Both Sian and Gavin were nominated for conducting themselves with integrity, the amazing and very specific skills that they continually develop and being vital pillars within their own teams. Despite the dedication they bring to their role and the success they have achieved, both are usually found shouting about the talents and achievements of other team members.

Sian was described by her peers as someone who maintains an open mind and a desire to continuously learn from others, who is very humble and sometimes doesn’t realise just how good she is at what she does.

Our second winner, Gavin, was described as the definition of humble – someone who always tries their best, is always happy to help and who is a real asset to the business. This is the second time he’s taken home an award from our Annual Summer Awards Party, having won the Newcomer Award last year.

The Workvivo Award

This award celebrates an individual who raises the profile of Elite Group through social advocacy and who makes significant contributions to Workvivo, our internal communications platform, to celebrate achievements of our team. It was James McDonough, our Account Director, who scooped this award. Based on the statistics provided by Workvivo, James has the highest level of engagement on the platform, receives kudos, gives shout outs to his peers and is consistently being praised for the efforts made in his role. What an excellent ambassador for Elite Group.

 

Newcomer of the Year

This award highlights an Elite Group employee who has joined the company in the last 12 months and is considered one to watch (for all the right reasons). The winner of this award received the highest number of nominations in any one category – which is an achievement in and of itself! It was Imran Khan, our Project Manager, who took home the prize with feedback from our team highlighting his approach and professionalism. He has set a new benchmark for our standards, going above and beyond for customers and his team. You’re certainly one to watch for the future, Imran!

 

Team of the Year

It was a close race for our Team of the Year award this year. The Team of the Year Award celebrates a team who goes the extra mile, who you can always rely on and who consistently makes a significant impact within the business.

It was our hard-working Business Change Team who came in first place. This team have been recognised for continuously delivering for the company, their success in positively engaging all departments within Elite and the quality of their work. Their care, attention to detail, character and dedication are the reasons they were awarded the Team of the Year Award and deservedly so!

 

Special Recognition Award

One of our biggest awards was presented to our Senior UC Consultant, Ryan Black, to commemorate his outstanding contribution to Elite Group within the last 12 months. It’s the second year Ryan has won an award at our annual Summer Awards Party. Ryan continuously strives to develop in his role and his hard work, drive, enthusiasm, leadership and unmatched performance makes him a very worthy winner of this award. We were delighted to honour Ryan with the Special Recognition Award.

 

Employee of the Year

The Employee of the Year Award is presented to someone who truly embodies our core values and our winner really does – with teamwork, hard work, trust and humility at the heart of everything he does. Our winner was Alex Guest, Head of Change, who is a remarkable ambassador for our brand, demonstrating dedication and a real work ethic. He approaches problems with meticulous research and analysis, is committed to his continuous learning and personal growth. His own team say he is ‘truly motivational and inspiring’ and always going the extra mile. Alex is truly transforming Elite Group in every step of his career and wholeheartedly deserves this award!
